Thundereggs are agate-filled, and sometimes crystal filled, nodules found in various parts of the Western United States. This is also the official state rock of Oregon. This thunderegg is from the Moss Agate Bed at the Richardson Ranch in Oregon. This thunderegg has an area of Moss Agate with moss in green. The agate area is mostly clear agate which allows you to see deep into the stone. There is also some white agate which also filled in a fracture in the stone making a thin sheet from front to back. This really adds depth to it and is easy to see features inside the stone. This stone will be a great addition to your collection.
This piece has been high speed sanded which gives it a high shine. This specimen weighs 6 oz and is approx. 3 1/8 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 3/8 inches thick at it's thickest point.
