This piece of Lake Superior Agate ranges in color from white to brown. (The lighting in the picture makes the specimen look lighter than it is. Specimen is darker than shown).
Like many stones, fractures are visible which attests to the severe environment that this specimen was in. Lake Superior Agates were worn out of their host rock by the many glaciers that moved through this area during the ice ages. These glaciers pulverized the surrounding basalt and freed the agate.
This stone has been tumbled. The stone weighs 5/8 ozs and is approx. 1 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/8 inch tall and 3/4 inch deep (at its thickest point).
A display base comes with the purchase of this item.
